WebSphere Studio overview

چکیده
In this paper we provide an overview of IBM WebSphere Studio, a family of tools for developing distributed applications for J2EETM servers for state-of-the-art information technology systems. In today’s business environment such systems are complex, comprise multiple platforms, and make use of a wide range of technologies and standards. Through a representative development scenario we illustrate the way WebSphere Studio satisfies the challenging requirements for a modern integrated development environment. The scenario covers a variety of technologies and standards, including database access, Web services standards, Enterprise JavaBeansTM implementation, integrated application testing, Web page design, and performance optimization. We also describe the Eclipse Modeling Framework, the open source technology base on which WebSphere Studio is built.

EVALUATION OF IDE’s FOR JAVA ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS
In this paper we propose a quantitative model for evaluation and selection of Integrated Development Environments (IDE’s) for Java enterprise applications. Our goal is to determine the extent to which major IDE’s satisfy typical software developer requirements. Our evaluation model is based on the Logic Scoring of Preference (LSP) method for system evaluation. We present an overview of the LSP ...
متن کاملVisualizing Flow Diagrams in WebSphere Studio Using SHriMP Views
This paper describes the integration of an information visualization tool, called SHriMP Views, with IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer Integration Edition, which was developed with Eclipse technology. Although SHriMP was originally developed for visualizing programs, it is content-independent. We have re-targeted SHriMP for visualizing flow diagrams. Flow diagrams, as supported by WebS...
متن کاملIntegrating SHriMP with the IBM websphere studio workbench
This paper provides an experience report for researchers who are interested in integrating their tools with the new IBM WebSphere Studio Workbench. The Workbench (open source at www.eclipse.org) provides an open framework for building integrated development environments. We report on our experience integrating an information visualization tool (called SHriMP Views) with the IBM Workbench. Altho...

متن کاملHold the Sources: A Gander At J2ME Optimisation Techniques
With the advent of the Java 2 Micro Edition platform, developers have the ability to develop Java based mobile applications that benefit from features such as device independence, and memory abstraction. However, applications also inherit many limitations such as slow execution, and excessive memory usage that impact on overall application performance and usability. The aim of this paper is to ...
